Tom Konrad Ph.D. CFA^® Editor
Tom Konrad is a financial analyst, portfolio manager, and freelance writer specializing in renewable energy and energy efficiency investing.  He writes articles about investing in clean energy for AltEnergyStocks.com, and at the Green Stocks blog on Forbes.com.  He is featured in the 2011 anthology Fleeing Vesuvius: Overcoming the Risks of Economic and Environmental Collapse.

Tom is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA^®) charterholder, and has a Ph.D. in mathematics from Purdue University. He wrote his thesis on Complex Dynamics, a branch of chaos theory.  His study of chaos theory led to his conviction that knowing the limits of our ability to predict is much more important than predictions themselves, a lesson he applies to both climate science and the financial markets.

Tom lives in upstate New York. His interests are running (he has completed two marathons in under 4 hours), hiking, gardening, and woodworking.

John Petersen is a U.S. lawyer based in Switzerland who works as a partner in the law firm of Fefer Petersen & Cie and represents North American, European and Asian clients, principally in the energy and alternative energy sectors. His international practice is limited to corporate securities and small company finance, where he focuses on guiding small growth-oriented companies through the corporate finance process, beginning with seed stage private placements, continuing through growth stage private financing and concluding with a reverse merger or public offering. Mr. Petersen is a 1979 graduate of the Notre Dame Law School and a 1976 graduate of Arizona State University. He was admitted to the Texas Bar Association in 1980 and licensed to practice as a CPA in 1981. From January 2004 through January 2008, he was securities counsel for and a director of Axion Power International, Inc. a small public company involved in advanced lead-acid battery research and development.

Joesph McCabe - Contributing Editor
Mr. McCabe has over 20 years of photovoltaic (PV) industry experience with expertise in the areas of thin film PV, building integrated PV (BIPV), PV / thermal collectors (PV/T), and zero energy homes (ZEH).

From 2007 to 2010 Joseph McCabe was Executive Vice President of Business Development at Ascent Solar. From 2000 until 2004, he managed solar energy research for the State of California, at the Public Interest Energy Research office of the California Energy Commission as a full-time technical support consultant. 2004 - 2006 he generated multiple solar contracts with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

Mr. McCabe is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Dayton, a Masters degree in Nuclear and Energy Engineering from the University of Arizona, and a Masters of Business Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado where he now resides. Ms. Fiakas is a seasoned, credentialed investment professional with a diversified and successful track record as a research analyst and as an investment banker.  Her career includes experience in all aspects of the equity capital markets with particular emphasis on emerging growth companies operating in the technology sectors.

Doug Young has lived and worked in China for 15 years, much of that as a journalist for Reuters writing about Chinese companies. He currently lives in Shanghai where he teaches financial journalism at Fudan University. Charles is a Level III candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, an MSc in Environmental Policy from the London School of Economics and a BA from the University of British Columbia.
